For the first time in University Interscholastic League history, a private school team will reign supreme.
Jesuit got goals from Oscar Martinez, Rex Rayfield, and Matthew Fredericks for a 4-0 Class 5A state semifinal win over Austin Westlake on Thursday evening in Georgetown. Rayfield scored once in each half.
With the victory, Jesuit (24-0-0) will take on Houston Strake Jesuit (27-0-1) in Saturday’s 1 p.m. state title game.
