Lady Scots Break Into Top 10

After not being ranked in the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s Class 4A preseason state poll, Highland Park moved into the No. 7 spot in the new poll after a solid opening week of action. District 10-4A rival Pearce is ranked No. 2.

The Lady Scots got the season started with wins over Lake Highlands and Red Oak in a home dual last Tuesday night. Highland Park then went 5-2 in the Duncanville Tournament of Champions, beating Houston Clear Springs, Stephenville, Arlington Martin, Arlington, and Keller, and falling to Magnolia and Houston Clear Lake.

Highland Park (7-2) plays at Plano West at 6:30 tonight. The Lady Scots will be in the Byron Nelson Tournament later this week.
