Mystery of the Missing Letter. Day 7.

So about that fax confirmation report and e-mail I’ve been asking to have forwarded for 7 days now. Yeah, well, I’m still working on that. I heard from the “Vote No” campaign consultant, John Weekley, a bit ago and here’s where we are.

Merritt,

I talked to Mayor Davis on Saturday, and was planning on sending the copies you requested to you today. If you will give me a good fax number where I can send them, I’ll get them to you this afternoon.

I also called you and left my number: 214-xxx-xxxx

We discovered last Thursday night that the fax verification sheet shows you never received the fax. The person on the desk at Kinkos apparently sent the fax to the “From” fax number instead of the “To” fax number. So, the fax of the Mayor’s letter to you was waiting in the Strasburger fax machine the next morning.

It might also be good to know that the date on the verification sheet shows Kinkos set the date stamp on their fax machine to January 11, I believe. But, the cash receipt received from Kinkos paying for the fax was also in the sack. It shows about the correct date and time the fax was sent.

Tina Peyton can tell you about the emails as she tracked down the addresses and sent those while I took care of the fax.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

John Weekley

The facts (pun?) back you up, Merritt, that the document was not sent to you. We await a retraction from your accuser.

As for the mayor’s office, though, I’d leave them alone for a while since he is dealing with his brother’s death.

That still doesn’t explain how commenter N.F. got a hold of this fax.

Am I reading John Weekley’s email msg correctly?

On Thursday, Oct 28th, the fax to you appeared in the Inbox at Strasburger and on Nov 12, more than two weeks later, neither Dick Davis nor his assistant, Rhonda Yetzer, had yet seen it and realized that it never went to you?
