Digg’s Taco Shop to Open by End of Month

To quote me, “Mmmm, tacos.”

According to owner Joey Milan, Digg’s Taco Shop, located in the old Stromboli’s spot on Hillcrest, will open by the end of the month. He’s hoping for the 25th or 26th, but we’ll see.

Plans call for “quick-service food that is bold and very flavorful with uncomplicated and sincere service,” according to a post on PCP sister site, Side Dish.

“I think this place will get hit hard right away,” he said of the shop’s opening. “We just knew this was a phenomenal location.”

Of all the things we don’t need ANOTHER of around here – I’d say we are maxed out on Tom Thumbs, Frozen yogurt and Taco’s. Someone open something original, please.

If by phenomenal location, he means has changed hands 5 times in the past 10 years due to lack of business, then he’s totally correct!

I can’t wait to try it. At least y’all won’t be in my way in line.

    I’m just glad it’s not a bank.

@B is right, the absolute worst thing it could have been is another bank! The dumbest move in the last 5 years was to take the former Gordo’s spot on Lovers Lane, smack next to the high school, and turn it into ANOTHER BANK! If they had reasonably priced food that would appeal to high schoolers they’d make a killing there. The Seniors eat off campus! Many kids need to grab a bite after school and return quickly for all kinds of after school activiities, practice and performances! They are mostly headed under the tollway and spending their bucks at the food joints over there – because there’s nothing at all in UP near the school. Stoopid.

Just what we need…burger fumes wafting through UP

I think Bubba’s is grandfathered in as far as fast food + drive-throughs go in UP

The last thing any food place probably wants is a bunch of HP seniors running through at lunch!

@Eloise – last I checked, the HP kids’ cash is as green as mine and, since they have to get back to class, they don’t sit and chat as long as most. Sounds like a perfect combination for most fast food joints.

@Eloise, I would bet that if we asked Chips, Jacks, Bubbas, Lovers Pizza, New York Sub, Cafe Express, etc they would all disagree with your statement.
