What I Know About the Harry Potter Theme Park

For those Parkies contemplating a visit to Orlando over Spring Break, here’s what I can tell you from my recent reconnsaince mission to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter: butterbeer, contrary to some reports, is not bad at all.  It’s kind of like a cream soda with a beer-like head on it.  The regular beer, a microbrew special to the park, is better.  Pay for the Express Lane passes; it’s worth it.  Consider buying a Gryffindor scarf because its colors are close enough to HPHS to pass.  And before you buy a Hogwarts robe, ask yourself where you would ever wear it.  Then don’t buy it.

You could have worn it for Dress Like a Wizard Day.

I’m here to file a formal protest against “Dress Like a Wizard Day”. This is both on behalf of those who were going wear wizard robes on “Dress Like a Geek Day” and also because this does not seem fair to Witches, Warlocks, and other magical related entities. Please cease and desist from any further bullying of Wizards and Non-Wizards.

Charles – Were there any giddy adults sans kiddos running around being all magical and stuff? Because I’ve got no kids, but I really like Harry Potter…

Now wait a minute, DemBones, I had a legitimate child-qualifying figure with me. And, yes, there were childless geek-like people, not that there’s anything wrong with that.
