Hammer Hails From Highland Park? Who Knew?

Here’s a converge of coincidences: The current edition of Park Cities People includes a story I wrote about an actor named J.R. Nutt, who spent some time in the Bubble as a kid. That edition came out the same weekend that I finally got around to seeing The Social Network — the same weekend that I found out one of the actors in that film, Armie Hammer, also grew up in the Park Cities. (Thanks, Alan Peppard.)

How many of you were aware that Hammer — who impressively plays the Winklevoss twins in the Oscar-nominated film — was a Highland Park kid? And why didn’t any of you tell me before now?

If you think about it, it really wasn’t a “Meryl Streep” performance considering he was practically playing a popular kid from HPHS

Yeah, but he played two of them. My wife had no idea it was one actor.

I knew him when we were kids. Our families were friends growing up. He was on our float during a park cities 4th of July Parade one year.
