UP Library Patrons, Losing Books All Over The Place

I was kicking around this morning, looking at the non-profit forms for the Friends of the University Park Library, when I saw this: in 2011, the library pulled in $8,630 in fines or lost book costs. And that’s pretty low compared to other years.

In 2010, patrons paid $12,211 in fines and fees, and a whopping $15,757 in 2009.

Highland Park and Dallas numbers weren’t immediately available for comparison, but that seems like a decent amount of fees. Keep better track of your books, friends; I’m still waiting to take out The Hunger Games.
