Yesterday, Jeanne Prejean — our source on the North Texas charity scene — caught a few photos of water being pumped from Turtle Creek yesterday. While there aren’t many positive connotations with draining a creek,  Highland Park spokesman Sgt. Lance Koppa said there is nothing to worry about.

City employees were draining a section of the creek between Armstrong Ave. and Wycliffe Ave. for an annual inspection of the Armstrong bridge, Koppa said. The water is drained near the Morning Glory dam so inspectors can get under Armstrong and check for any defects in the bridge.

Koppa said inspectors should be done by today, and the creek should recharge soon with some rainfall in the next few days.
