Greenhill Snaps Skid in Dramatic Fashion

First-year head coach Ralph Dintino needed just two games to equal the program’s win total of the last two seasons combined.

The Hornets ended an 18-game losing streak on Friday night by knocking off Plano John Paul II, 48-45, in double overtime, in front of the home fans.

After the Cardinals got a field goal in the second overtime to take a 45-42 lead, Jalen Sharp hauled in a 22-yard touchdown pass from Noah Montgomery to lift Greenhill to its first victory since a 56-27 win over Fort Worth Southwest Christian on Sept. 9. 2011.

Sharp caught a pair of touchdown passes, while Matthew Jones rushed for 99 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries.

Greenhill, which plays at Fort Worth All Saints at 7 p.m. Thursday, scored the final 14 points of regulation to force overtime.
