Allen’s Contract Extended For One Year

Coach Randy Allen looks down at his playbook before the game against McKinney North on Oct. 21.
Scots head coach Randy Allen will be back on the sideline for at least one more football season.

Although Amy Matlock won’t be back at Highland Park High School this fall (see previous post), head football coach and boys athletics coordinator Randy Allen will. The Highland Park ISD Board of Trustees approved a one-year contract extension for Allen on Tuesday night; they did the same for wrestling coach Tim Marzuola and softball coach Meredith Townsend.

But athletics director Johnny Ringo got a two-year extension, as did baseball coach Travis Yoder, boys soccer coach Randall Allen, and assistant football coaches Mark Howeth and Grayson Wells. Also receiving two-year deals were girls athletics coordinator Susan Bailey and principal Walter Kelly.

I’ve uploaded the entire list of contract recommendations, so you can scan it for the name of your favorite teacher, coach, or administrator. I have no idea what the absence of a name means. Perhaps those folks’ contracts simply aren’t expiring at the end of this semester?
