HPISD Investigation of Candidate Ends
Back in February, we alerted you that HPISD was investigating Dallas City Council candidate and former Mike Rawlings chief of staff Adam McGough regarding his residency — though running for a Lake Highlands seat, the McGoughs had maintained a condo on Lomo Alto Drive so that their children could attend HP schools before ultimately transferring them to Scofield Christian School.
Now, the investigation has closed, with no further action to be taken. The district had no additional comments on the matter.
Real estate blog Candy’s Dirt retracted derogatory comments made regarding McGough’s utility bills, which were mysteriously circulated.
Editor’s note: We are in the process of taking a look at HPISD’s protocol for residency investigations. Look for a story in our next issue.
I’m disappointed in the school district for not disclosing the findings. The family either defrauded HPISD or not. If he wasn’t running for Dallas City Council, would HPISD be less aggressive in their pursuit?
Why did PCP take so long to report this, and one day after early voting closed?
This is a very important topic and one that needs more attention. Clearly this guy was bending if not breaking the rules and I am sure there are many others doing the same thing.
