SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: SO MUCH PANE

Before 12:39 p.m. Jan. 26, thieves stole residential windows from a 50-year-old woman’s home in the 6200 block of Yorkshire Drive.

25 Monday

Before 8:09 a.m., a clumsy motorist left the roadway in the 7000 block of Park Lane and crashed into a 61-year-old woman’s property.

At 2:49 p.m., an unwelcome guest to NorthPark Center received a criminal trespassing warning.

Reported at 2:57 p.m.: the theft of a 70-year-old Hutto, Texas man’s vehicle at NorthPark Center.

Burglarized before 3:24 p.m.: a 35-year-old Wills Point, Texas man’s vehicle at NorthPark Center.

26 Tuesday

Online records don’t include reporting times for a thefts from a Wylie man at the Lowe’s Home Improvement store on Inwood Road, near Forest Lane, and from Sephora at Preston Royal Village.

Before 1:26 p.m., an opportunistic thief snagged easy loot from an unlocked vehicle outside a home in the 4500 block of Meadowood Road.

Arrested at 11:02 p.m.: a 20-year-old man accused of providing a false name and birthdate during a traffic stop in the 6800 block of West Northwest Highway.

27 Wednesday

Not provided: the reporting time for a theft from a home in the 4400 block of Northcrest Road and from a plumber calling on a home in the 7100 block of Lakehurst Avenue.

Reported at 11:20 a.m.: Restaurant staff knew the vandal who damaged a door at Chick-Fil-A on Northwest Highway near Lemmon Avenue. Reported at 12:16 p.m.: an unwelcome person refused to leave.

Before 11:37 a.m., a charlatan tried to cash a fraudulent check at Bank of America in the Market at Preston Forest.

Before 11:43 a.m., a crook took the blower from a TechScape truck calling on a home in the 4700 block of Irvin Simmons Drive.

Before 1:01 p.m., a 35-year-old man from the 5100 block of Elsby Avenue took offense to being sprayed with water from a hose.

Reported at 4:30 p.m.: A thief on Jan. 25 stole from a JHS Custom Painting & Remodeling vehicle at a home in the 5800 block of Preston Haven Drive.

28 Thursday

Before 2:54 a.m., a prowler damaged a 65-year-old woman’s property at a home in the 5800 block of Grassmere Lane.

Not provided: a reporting time for a theft at a home in the 4400 block of Ridge Road.

Reported at 12:02 p.m.: A burglar broke out a glass door to steal from a home in the 5300 block of Rockcliff Place.

Before 6: 47 p.m., a thief fled the AT&T store at Preston Royal Village with stolen merchandise.

29 Friday

Not provided: a reporting time for a theft at a home in the 4900 block of Mill Run Road.

Before 10:05 a.m., an off-duty officer found marijuana in a parking lot at NorthPark Center.

Stolen before 1:36 p.m.: tools from a 33-year-old Carrollton man’s vehicle at a home in the 4700 block of Hallmark Drive.

Reported at 4:21 p.m.: A hit-and-run wreck on Jan. 28 damaged a 46-year-old woman’s vehicle, which was parked on the street in front of her home in the 4200 block of Valley Ridge Road.

Reported at 5 p.m.: A burglar on Jan. 27 forced entry and stole from a 74-year-old man’s vehicle at a home in the 6800 block of Prestonshire Lane.

Officers are calling this “criminal mischief:” Before 6 p.m., someone struck and damaged a 50-year-old man’s property in the parking lot outside Inwood Tavern on Inwood Road.

Before 8:16 p.m., a vandal damaged a home in the 4700 block of West Northwest Highway.

30 Saturday

Not provided: the reporting time for shoplifting at Bottega Veneta at NorthPark Center.

Officers found stolen mail during a 4:48 a.m. traffic stop in the 12900 block of Hughes Lane.

Stolen before 7:27 p.m.: a vehicle parked in the 8600 block of Hillcrest Road.

Reported at 1:35 a.m.: A 19-year-old man from the 4200 block of Merrell Road received several text messages demanding money.

Before 9:33 a.m., a porch pirate stole a package left in front of a 36-year-old man’s home in the 6300 block of Lupton Drive.

At 10:41 p.m., a street racer fled from the intersection of Lemmon Avenue and Inwood Road.
